It seems I hear more and more that people have the warped rotor problem. It starts with the pulsating brakes. Where will it end. Chevrolet, please solve this problem...

not sure if they use bi-metallic rotors on the new vets but those type of rotors are common on other cars and are junk. they warp easy and are from what i hear very difficult if not impossible to turn on a lathe. its all the money saving that gm is doing (:

All I can say is that when my rotors are warped and if GM won't replce them under warranty I'm gonna get some cross-drilled rotors and put on the Vette, if I'm gonna have to pay for rotors I'll put REAL rotors on the car!

Instead of warping, you may end up with crack rotors If you go with the drilled rotors.

But if they are cast with the holes in them from the start, you should not have a problem.

If GM wouldn't use the cheapest bidder the rotors would probably be better.

ConeKLR and Tormania, Even the high dollar cast holes type rotors (the excellent Porsche Twin Turbo setup for example) will crack over time given enough heat, especially on heavy cars such as the C5 and Viper. Quite often the problem is the air forced onto them is too cold. If you run the ducts so as to collect a little heat from an oil cooler first the temprature differential is reduced and the cracking is postponed.
