Lamborghini Doors for C4
Are C4 Lambo doors compatible? If they are, where can they be purchased? :smash:
|
I think one of the Forum members from Hawaii has these on his C4. Maybe he will chime in.
|
There was a previous thread about this in the summer....from what I remember it wasn't a good idea because of the location of the new hinges....I think if you look under the search bar and type in lambo doors you might get a hit.
|
I've been thinkin' about that mod, too. Problem: C5 kits everywhere and no C4 kits I've yet found. :ack:
|
www.groundfx.com has them.....1399
|
Not with the clam shell hood, no place to locate the hardware. Can be done but not practical.
|
IMO, these kits are retarded. Its like saying I have a Lambo and want to put some C4 vette doors on it. Just dosent make sense.

Lambo Doors
Forum member bite2dis has them installed from Hawaii on his C4 and they look cool.
|
There is an outfit in Georgia that sells a kit for the C3. Last fall he said he expected to have a C4 kit sometime this winter. C3 kit ran $800 if I recall correctly. I have no idea of the status.

save your $$ by not uglifying your stock lines with a kit. if you want to do something with a real return, invest in performance mods. these will make you smile every single time you turn the ignition key. silly kits will do nothing like that except attract attention, with nothing to back it up.
|
I personally don't like that idea. The Vette is not an exotic and shouldn't have them..... much like the 8 billion honduh's running around with them.
....but spend the money how you want, it's your jack, jack. |

I've seen these doors on several cars and was not impressed. Functionally, they are of no benefit, since they make it harder to ingress and egress (not easier). They add weight and reduce structural rigidity. It must be hard to achieve good seam alignment with a kit, too, since on none of the cars I looked at would the doors close even close to factory fitup. I'd advise personally looking at an install carefully and thoroughly before writing the check. Larry code5coupe |
also think about this, people will be more likely to steal your vette if it has lambo doors. Lambo doors are much more valuable to theifs for some reason (prolly cuz thiefs are all in the ricer croud anyways)

I think it's a bad Idea, just my .02.

So, with all this posting on the matter, this means you're definitely gonna do it, PLX, right? Can't wait to see the pics.

Only trying to get your goat here, as I know how you're very much against the aforementioned additions. |
 ;)

Personally, I would never do it. I have seen a C5 with them and it's just okay. I immediately figured, wow he has a ton of money to burn and then I wondered who he was trying to impress.
I would say don't do it. It will cost you money and make the car worth less. If you do, just please do not put a double billet aluminum wing or anything gay like that on it. Rice is not a foreign car, it's a mentality...and I don't fully unerstand it yet. |
