The Grond Chronicles : Dropped Valve and ECS to the Rescue [Dialup Death]

I just want to say that Chris & Doug of East Coast Supercharging are....

AWESOME!!

As you all may or may not be aware, I dropped an exhaust valve on my current big cammed N/A LS1 last Saturday night doing THIS.

So I sent a PM to Chris & Doug of ECS on Monday asking if they had any stock unmilled LS1 heads they could sell me cheap and if they did, could they ship it ASAP.

Tonight (Tuesday) I come home and what do I see on my doorstep??? A stock unmilled LS1 head shipped next day - and free of charge!!!!!!

Now THAT is what I call customer service!!!!:thumbs:

By the way - this engine was built by me and has absolutely NOTHING to do with ECS. They have never touched it!!!!

I am a ECS customer because I had them upgrade my entire drivetrain and I bought a Paxton supercharger from them - but in no way were they obliged to help me out in any way - especially to this extraordinary extent.

I still can't believe it!!

ECS = I really cannot thank them enough!!

Huge Thanks to Chris & Doug :thumbs:

Stephen

ECS is the best, glad to hear they came through yet again. Now don't break anything else or else you'll never get GROND to Florida.

GB is going to find a way to install twin turbos into the center console with the intake routed through the outside review mirrors and make it look completely stock. :willy:

Wow, what a sweet burnout, stephen! Glad to hear about ECS's great customer service. I will have to give them some business one of these days.

 Wow that is great to have your part in the time of need, from those boys at ECS going above and beyond to assist you in getting you ride back on the road

Dave1998 01-24-2006 11:15 PM

EG , so are concerned you will have an issue every time you do a burnout ? Somehow that would not seem fair !

No, I had other issues with this engine, the burnout didn't directly cause the problem. On my way home from that meet, I did a 60-130 WOT pass and the problem manifested itself then.

These are stock LS1 heads with an upgraded valvetrain. The fix is no big deal.

Very

I still love how your car looks slammed even when on jackstands.

Tom, I LOVE my DRM shortened + revalved coilovers plus T1 sways.

I should have just saved my money from day 1 and just bought them instead of lowering with longer bolts, installing Bilsteins, contemplating Hotchkiss or Z06 sways, removing the front bolts.......

Another myth debunked :D

Don't think that is a myth, so much as the admission price vs. people's goals..

Coilovers are great, even if you don't want to super-slam the car. Don't think the thought hasn't crossed my mind.... :D
