Please Advise! I want headers plus Corsa Sport ...Need help

We got our C6 coupe Tuesday. Great car! I'm planning a "Stage 1" from MTI in Marietta, GA...Callaway Intake, Low Temp Thermostat, Wires, Headers, Corsa Sport and a dyno tune. I am sold on everything but the headers. I REALLY want them, but have a few questions.

#1 We like a good rumble at idle and want to hear it all at WOT, but a mostly quiet cruise. Mind you I know we'll like the corsa and some deep engine "backgroud purr" would be desirable at cruise. I'm just trying to get a read on what the headers will add to volume. Thoughts?

#2 This is a street car. Am I really going to feel the headers?

I have the Corsa Sports and the DynaTech SuperMAXX headers on my C6. The sound is great without any resonance in the cab, regardless of the speed.

I just added heads/cam and wow, did that wake up the headers/exhaust.

You won't be disappointed.

:iagree: IMO headers are one of the best things you can do for the C6.

Car will feel great on the street and yes you will be able to feel it. I have headers on mine and they made a big difference in the performance of the car.

I have the headers (Kooks) and the Corsa exhaust with a "Honker" plus a tune. Can you P-E-R-F-E-C-T?

i agree with all the above. i have LG longtubes and corsa sports. i put the corsas on first and the headers a week later. the headers made such a difference it was unbelievable. really gave the engine that nice "bark" when you get on it.

While headers definitely increase the sound level, I would be very surprised if the different long tube headers produced different sounds. They are not like mufflers which are designed to produce different sounds, they just channel the exhaust better and further away from the engine.

I had similar concerns--so i posted the following thread to get some discussioin. Although the responses were limited--i think you get a good idea of the results of the mods. Good luck---

Headers will definitely make it louder. Corsa Sports are fairly mild. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Now removing the CATs with all the above, is a different story. :D
