Parking Brake won't release on 92'
I put my parking brake on to jackup my 92' and now the parking brake won't release.
I was told there was a release that I can do with a screwdriver under the cover where the handle is. Does anybody have a picture of that for me? Thanks in advance, VET 350 |
Did you push the button in then press lever down? This has happend to me with my 92. I was just pushing the lever down and not pushing the button in.

The lever just goes up and down now like it's loose. |

My original message with the ebrake. If you haven't by now I'm sure you can do a search and find it. We all have the same problems. Nice Vett's you have. I hope LSU wins tomorrow. Are yall pumped up down there? |
Try pulling it all the way back up, almost in an attempt to get another click out of it then push the button from there and ease it back down.
I pulled mine too tight one time and this is what I had to do to release it and it worked. |
Take the cover off.
pull up on the lever and look down until you can see the ratchets. You may have over pulled the lever and the lever passed the last ratchet teeth. Stick a flat head screw driver n and pop it back into place. |
When this happened to my 92 the problem was that there is a rod that is attached to the button, that activates the pawl that engages the ratchet, was not hitting the pawl when the button was pushed.
It turns out that applying the brakes over time had bent the lever towards the seat about 1/2 inch and the rod could no longer hit the pawl when pushed. Try pushing/ bending the break lever towards the door while pressing the button to see if it activates the pawl. This is easiest with the lever lifted up. |
Mine handle is real loose and it will work but won't does not ratchet. I'm tearing in to it while the seat is out and I'm doing booster work.

that worked
