fairway green, rare color for 97 c5??

saw a 97 coupe with paint code 87u, Fairway green. I've never seen one till today, is this a limited production color?

Yup..Fairway Green Metallic 155 in production for 1997..lowest color of all in 1997 models...

Dang, someone just traded one in for a C6, only has 50k miles. The color looks like a one off custom paint job with gold pearl in it. Very nice color.

I saw one the other day coming back from DC. Thought it was black at first, but I got a little closer and noticed the green. It was very unique, wouldn't own one though, not even the purple or gold ones.

The darker green (almost black) color is called Dark Bowling Green Metallic, and not the same as Fairway Green.

If the one you saw was that dark, it most likely was not Fairway Green - that was a bit lighter. Probably was Dark Bowling Green Metallic. See my sig.

Well, it was green and I didn't like it...:D

Yea, I know about the Bowling Green also.

It was rare, but not limited production. So few people and dealers ordered them, that GM dropped the color. Rare doesn't necessarily mean desirable....

GREEEEEN!!!!! I like both greens. But DBGM is the !!

Dark Bowling Green Metallic production numbers:

Year QTY
2001 919
2000 1663

I've only seen a few of the Fairway Green cars over the years. Not a bad color, but not too many opted for it on their cars.
