The Grond Chronicles : Stereo; Episode 4 [Dialup: have a cup of tea]

Once again, I am re-doing my stereo (shock/horror/surprise). Ripped out all of the rear interior and the door panels and got to work.

The Plan : re-wire the front mid/tweeters speakers, new power distribution, new ground distribution, build new amp rack, place equipment in a way that makes some kind of sense (versus the crazy layout I had before), fibreglass the interior of my sub box, run new wires where appropriate, relocate the Optima Yellow Top to the passenger side rear bin, tidy up the whole layout.

This is what it looked like before

And so it begins...

Started with the front doors - removed sub and mid/tweeter

Need to rewire this bad boy

And this one

Made a new spacer ring for 12 inch sub (out of MDF). It will never be seen.

Laying down the expert woodworking cuts :D

New layout at a 45 degree angle - what do you think?

And now to cut a LOT of holes for wires

when will the madness end :willy:

Holes drilled/cut, painted and ready for trial assembly. Then carpeting.

Already had a crab, tortoise and a snake. An alligator would no longer surprise me.

I forgot to mention that one. If you leave the door open, they will come in. I had it happen once. Can't wait to see the system though. Will it be done by the weekend?

:nono: Now play nice, GB. I don't have your skill or imagination to create a beautiful custom install like yours. I have to settle for my rough-and-ready "ghetto style"
