GSP is a nice road...just watch for critters!

Fastbird 07-09-2006 12:55 AM

What part of the GSP were you on?? Up north it's not that nice.....down south towards A/C though it's pretty nice.

I'm here in Newark right now waiting for my plane out. What is a GSP? Driving here has been a very.. interesting experience. That NJ Turnpike is a trip.

We have the Garden State Parkway (aka "the Piggy Bank" by CB'ers because you used to have to stop and put money in. Now we have Sleazy Pass.) Down south we also have the Atlantic City Expressway. Gotta watch for deer, however.

Yeah it can be nice, watch for critters, deer, and TROOPERS

As for critters, a fellow forum member was on the GSP with his brand new '06 Z06, and a groundhog or chimpmunk came out to say Hi, and when the car made contact with him, it broke off a nice piece out of the driver's side front fascia, ouch!!!

Vetteman Jack 07-09-2006 09:03 AM

These cars are amazing.

RPOZ4Z 07-09-2006 10:13 AM

Yeah, once you get south of Newark and over the big bridge and the traffic starts to thin out it is a pretty nice ride.

(Note: except during rush hour and on weekends as NY city empties to the NJ shore at which time it is know as the Garden State Parkinglot.)

newyiddy20 07-09-2006 10:26 AM

the GSP is ok,once past Newark it smooths out:thumbs:

One of the beat things about the Parkway is that most times, the car gets covered in bugs from all the trees.
