C5 owner at car show
I went to our local car show Sunday. My son who is almost five years old spots a Millenium Yellow C5 convertible. My son has a 12 volt battery powered C5 convertible he drives around the back yard and on occasion down the sidewalk when I feel like running. My little boy starts talking to the owner of the car telling him about his toy Corvette and then they gentleman opens the hood, the trunk, gets out his matching diecast to show my son. He even opened the drivers door and told my son to sit in it and have fun. You ain't gonna hurt it little guy. What a nice guy. I thought I would post this since there used to be so many silly threads about not waving etc. This guy went out of his way and when he saw us leaving in our 93 he was smiling and waving as we were. If your on this forum thanks you made the little guys day.

Back in 2003 when Racing Champions offered a series of 1/64 scale 50th Anniversary Corvette diecasts one was a yellow coupe. I purchased countless numbers of those at the time and there is always one in the glove box just for the occasion you described.

Now that is way cool! In fact, I had a similar situation: Two weeks ago, as I was leaving my neighborhood in my C5, I eventually turned onto a main drag that leads me to a freeway entrance I use. And, to the right hand side are a few homes with ample driveways. And, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a little boy in an red electric powered Corvette C4. The youngling lad drove and stopped at the end of the driveway as he noticed my C5 approaching, AND, bless his heart, he gave me a hearty Corvette wave. Well, I was very touched, and, waved back. It is really great to acknowledge the love and admiration kids have at a young age for such an iconic automobile like the Vette. Sure made my day!

My Grandson is addicted to them at 6! Every time he sees a vette he says MOM give me the phone, I have to call Pop and tell hime I saw a C5 or C4!

These are the kind of people that make me so proud to be a Corvette owner. When my youngest son was 4 years old he and I started traveling the USA in a 75 White Convertible. Now he is grown and we both cherish the memories.
