Chev dealer says it’s probably a bad Electric Door Lock Receiver, and the dealer can’t get them anymore and you need a new one that has never been used in order to program the fob.

First off, you revived a thread that is over 13 years old. Secondly, there is no transmitter in the door. The transmitter is in the rear hatch area. If you have a 2000 and want to stay with the same set up, your best bet is to find a used one in a salvage yard. You can upgrade to to the 2001-2004 module, but again, you need to find a used one and buy new fobs etc. You can search that and see if you want to upgrade.

I just had my key fob stop working with my 2000 C5. Changed the battery in the fob. Still didn't work. Then I followed the reprogram system mentioned in the old posts. The Key Fob works fine now.

And my FOB is still broken after all this time. Luckily I don't drive the old girl as much as I used to.

Seems to be a problem with the 2000 models, he just emailed me and said both fobs stopped working after he replaced the car battery last fall and the fobs last a few days and loose the programming?

This is exactly what happened to me. I replaced new batteries and tried FOB resynching and retraining on both of my remotes but neither worked. Any suggestion on what I can do next? Thanks

I have a 2001 Z06. Not 2000.
