Chev dealer says it’s probably a bad Electric Door Lock Receiver, and the dealer can’t get them anymore and you need a new one that has never been used in order to program the fob.

I just had my key fob stop working with my 2000 C5. Changed the battery in the fob. Still didn't work. Then I followed the reprogram system mentioned in the old posts. The Key Fob works fine now.

Seems to be a problem with the 2000 models, he just emailed me and said both fobs stopped working after he replaced the car battery last fall and the fobs last a few days and loose the programming?

This is exactly what happened to me. I replaced new batteries and tried FOB resynching and retraining on both of my remotes but neither worked. Any suggestion on what I can do next? Thanks
