Fan Shroud for a 69 BB

I would like a used 69 BB fan shroud thats in an uncracked condition at a decent price...

Any one have one???

You could have picked one up nearby in Carlisle a few months ago, like I did. There is a vendor there from Indiana that sells them.

I'm usually there every year, but not this year.

I got my car there in 2000.

Forgive my ignorance but is there a difference between a 69 BB and a 68 SB shroud:lurk:

If you can use one from a 70 SB steel in fair condition let me know I'll take 100.00 for it.

I have 2 NOS ones, these are the original material types, not the later style introduced by parts in, I think , the 80's. Also have 2 used ones. The NOS are 600$ and the used are 250$. Or Dr Rebuild has them, NOS and repro, and don't forget there is a second piece that goes on, an extension...................B

I think there is a difference in the fan shroud for a BB and SB.

So does anyone have a fan shroud that they know will fit a 1969 BB? No A/C... P/S... 5 Blade fan.

If anyone had one in nice condition (no cracks), let me know how much you want to part with it.

Thanks!

Still Looking

BUMP.

I'm still looking for a fan shround for my 69 BB.

Anyone have one at a decent price?

Dave1998 11-07-2006 02:42 PM

Yes There is a difference .
I was at Carlisle last year and asked for a 69 BB from the owner who makes these in Indiana, name begins with an S, like Shneider or Scheonecker, and he makes many C2 parts. We found one tagged 69 BB. I shipped it to my brother for his 427. It was for a small block and much too narrow. they are not even close. As for price, I think it was $200. Anyway, had to ship it back to Indiana to exchange it. its now installed. Post in C2 if you need the name as he makes many fenders and quarters for mid-years that clients pick up at Carlisle.
Good luck

Yes for certain applications.
:)

For '68, the Big blocks (except L88--no shroud used) and a/c equipped cars used a 3 piece fiberglass shroud. The remaining smalll block cars used a metal shroud .
In '69, the big blocks and a/c cars used a plastic shroud (without the extension---the extension came into use in '70). The remaining cars used the same metal shroud as '68. Some non a/c automatics used the plastic shroud---I don't know why?
So, a '69 bb shroud is plastic, and there were no plastic shrouds shrouds used in '68.
Note: The GM parts books use the word "plastic" to describe both fiberglass and plastic---again, I don't know why.
There are size differences also, but the plastic vrs fiberglass vrs metal observations are a "quick" guide to these years/applications.

Well if it is any help my 1969 BB W/O A/C, currently has a plastic shroud. (I am only 99% sure about this, since sometimes its hard to tell between plastic and fiberglass).

I only want to replace it because the top of the shroud where it mounts is all cracked and looks like sh*t. :smash:

What is correct fan shroud

I have a 1969 427 390hp no A/C or PS built Sept 9 1968. I have been reading the postings on fan shrouds. But still have a question which one is the correct one for my car, per ncrs? I have read where some have said 3956119, others 3956109. Help

All '69 427 engines (except L88) used 3956119. (plastic)
All '69 350 engines with a/c used 3956109. (plastic)
Most '69 350 engines used 3938943. (metal)
'69 350 engines equipped with C.A.C. used 3956109

George,

I know it has been a lot time since this fan shroud discussion was posted, but do you still have the 3956119?

If so, let me know!

If not, do you know where one may be?

Thanks!

John
