Krylox versus Z16
What are the pros & cons for door rubber, etc.?

Re: Krylox versus Z16 (marion)
The best stuff you can buy is Krytox. It's a solid form of Teflon and expensive, but very durable and impervious to heat and cold. Straight old dielectric grease will work and it's pretty cheap. I think you can get 3 tubes from Mid America for about $10. You'll just end up applying it fairly often.
I've used both, and prefer Krytox. |

Do you have a preferred source for Krytox?

Re: Krylox versus Z16 (Square)
Krytox is available from MidAmerica. I think it's about $30 a tube. You should also be able to find it in a local bike store for less.

Thanks!
Do you mean bicycle store, or motorcycle store? |
Re: Krylox versus Z16 (Square)
I meant bicycle store. It's widely used as a chain lubricant on performance bicycles.
I looked thru my catalogs last nite and Eckler's carries Krytox, not MidAmerica. Their price is $30. |
