Nice car, real nice car, I understand its one of one but does that really make it more valuable,, guess so. I noticed that it says it has an auxillary top, but I dont see the additional hold down hole in the center of the lid (did 68's have one), didnt see where its listed on the build sheet either,,,but the clock seems to work, I'd like to own it,,,Peace,,,Moosie :seeya

Thanks, but you know there's nothing like a 427sixpack.
I am pretty sure the 68 COPO bid up to 70k at Carlisle. The first time it was on ebay it only bid up to 37k.
It was the last car at the auction at Carlisle. It was bid to $75k but did not sell. It's a very nice clean car, but I don't care for the color combination and wouldn't pay anywhere near the asking price. That's just my feeling. To me the fact that it is one of one adds no value. There is a reason that combination was not offered! The kindest thing I can say is that it doesn't look nearly as bad as it sounds, "Green with orange interior" sounds absolutely horrible!! But because the orange is a dark burnt orange, and the green is also dark, it's not jarring, but it's not what I would want.

WOW i didn't even know they made a COPO corvette. i just knew about the camaro and chevelle.
The '68 vert did not have the center hole for buttoning down the hardtop. Just the two bolts at the just aft of the door frame, the two latches in back and the 3 clamps in front.
I would swear while watching BJ, they talked about the history of being a Copo and Corvette never was, right/wrong?
Its my understanding that a "copo" vehicle is a not regularly ordered combination of available options, colors etc. and that what you see in fleet vehicles, Phone co. Electric co. trucks etc. are actually copo vehicles. Whats the forum think, or does anyone have something to prove or disprove this. Thanks,,,Peace,,,Moosie :seeya

We all know that COPO was for taxi cabs, police, any kind of fleet. It also was used when a customer wanted something that wasn't on the RPO list of options/colors so the interior color was the COPO on this car.Very nice car but one of one on this isn't anything that special.I'm sure there are some other COPO's out there like Imaplas and such That were ordered off RPO for some reason other than a big engine. It didn't take much to order a car back then on a COPO.
Copter and Moosie are correct above. Seems I read that the minimum number of cars that could be ordered under a COPO plan, was 50. And yes, most COPO's were cabs and police cars. This was a one-off which probably required some inside order,..much like the one Z-28 first gen convertible.
Central Office Production Order. This is how guys like Don Yenko could sell you a brand new 427 '69 Camero, which the factory never made.
Isn't it odd that orange was available as an interior color in 68 but not as a paint color? Then for 69 through 72 it's available as a paint color but not an interior color.
