***********Re-opened at originators request to post his story****
San Rafael Chevrolet really came through for us. Greg James and the dealership crew went out of their way to make it right and we are safisfied with the results. No question any more about their intentions and efforts. They delivered as promised and replaced our vette with a new 07, slightly better equipped, at our old loan rate and amount we owed. (Thanks to our credit union, contra costa credit union for matching the loan rate.) I think he took quite a hit. Maybe the mod can change the original header title of the post so the google result will show a positive header. I saw his service shop. It was the cleanest, most well organized shop I've ever seen. So they did the right thing by us in the end. Thanks to all who helped, from my wife Ronda and I. Any dealer or shop can learn from this, and that is, to make sure anyone driving a client's car drives it very carefully and if there is an accident, bend over backwards to make it right. http://www.consumerist.com/consumer/...ted-224967.php |
I understand your frustration but this issue is best handled by your lawyer.
Then I would scrape up the 5K and find one. And when I won my case, I'd make them pay my attorney's fees. If I am looking at the damage in your avatar, then you should have little trouble proving your case. I doubt the dealership's attorneys would want that to go to jury. |
ya dont let it ruin your holiday. Rest assured, any good lawyer will get you a replacement car, or a large chunk of money due to negligence.

While this is an ungood situation, you've got a lot of heavy lifting to do before bringing to our attention...you are far from having run all of the dispute resolution avenues...which is only slower during the holidays. Hang in there...all of the CF members hope your problem is satisfactorily resolved. |
I don't understand why you won't make a claim with your own isnurance company and let their lawyer subrogate against the dealership. All you will be out is your deductible, and your insurance company should reimburse you for that when it recoevrs from the dealer.

Sorry to hear about that. Get a good lawyer and you should have a new Vette and some guy's job. You may also want to contact your local news station (talk to a lawyer first) and have them give the dealership a bad rap. I remember a few years ago the local station here got a guy an new Camaro because he took his back for leaking T-tops about 4 times and it was never fixed.

You can sue the Dealership and the employee for damages and legal costs etc. While it's a hassle, it's your best option. I hope they own up and do the right thing... |

"The dealer is refusing to replace the car or compensate me for the lost value on resale..."

I'd get a good lawyer and while waiting for the settlement, use the time to decide stick or automatic, Z51 or F55 for my new C6. There is no way you won't come out ahead in this. They'll either replace it, or you'll get diminished value on it. |
If it really was Tylenol #3, I am willing to bet the bottle had a warning "may impair ability to drive" on it. I wouldn't post anything else about that on the forum though.

a good lawyer and some time will get you everthing you want....sue everyone invloved...the dealership, the owner, Gene....I would put good money on the dealer settling pretty quickly....it'll cost him much more in lawyer fees to drag it out...best of luck

Sorry to hear of your terrible situation. Keep us informed as to the final outcome. Hang in there.

Lawyer is the way to go. I also like the getting the media involved idea. A dealer can't afford that kind of bad publicity. Too many other dealers to go to.
You should have a new 'Vette in no time. Keep your chin up, enjoy the Holidays, and come out FIGHTIN' in the new year! |
Best of Luck getting this resolved. Go for Replacement!

The dealership should offer you a new 07 Vette to replace your car because of their screwup. What does the dealership have to say about this? |
