C6: Is there a fuse you can remove to increase power?
Someone told me there's a fuse you can remove that will allow the full application at normal driving conditions, not just wide open. This new car seems to have less power acceleration than the 06 C6. He said, "Take it to Jay's cars. There's a fuse that only affects the plates. Remove it, and the car will have full power."

i have a bridge you can buy cheap it is in brooklyn oh never mind.... no fuse.

The fuse in question is only on the Z06's. It disables the actuator that moves the baffles in the exhaust. Stock the Z06 only opens the baffles in the mufflers at WOT but removing the fuse keeps them open all the time. Not sure how much if any power is gained but it sounds better if nothing else.

I think what he is talking about is on the Z06, there is a fuse that you can remove so that the exhaust butterflies in the tail pipes stay open all of the time instead of just at higher throttle.

Nope

I can tell you which fuse it is, but you'll have to send me $500 first.

:lolg: :lolg: :lolg:  http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../gomerpyle.jpg No, there is no fuse you can pull, sorry. |
No, but what a great fantasy for all of us!

There is no fuse that will increase horsepower. but there is a secret fuse that will increase mileage to over 100 mpg. Big oil insists on it. Can't tell you where it is, they might come to get me if I do. Sorry.

Remove the fuse marked "AC".

Geez who starts these rumors??????

If you pull the radio fuse, stick a penny in its place, then add a jumper to the flux capacitor, it will sound like you are going faster.
Even in the Z06 with butterflies, I would not be sure keeping them open at all times would make it "faster", especially when they open at full throttle anyway. It would lower back pressure "some", but an engine also is designed for some level of back pressure. There is rarely (never?) a very simple fix anymore that will increase power across the board. New exhausts, cool air ducts etc can help.....but may come with some drivability costs as well. |
No one has suggested removing the flux capacitor?!

He tunes my drag racer (02 Trans Am with an LS1 engine) and it runs right. Stock motor with longtubes headers and I turn 11.7 ET's. When my 07 coupe gets in the end of this month, it will be going to Rick. His does it right. |

:o Thanks Todd. To the original poster I apologise. I forgot about the Z06 and the baffles. There is nothing on the non Z06 C6 that will give you the same affect. In place of the fuse trick, one of our very own forum members "Pipedreams" sells a switch kit that you can install very easily to activate this feature on demand from the cockpit and not have to have it always on. |
