Do black rims look good on c5's?
I have wagon wheels now and they have to go...I'm either going with thin spokes or my g/f wants me to put black rims on,...Anybody have pics or suggestions...Would like to keep the same size...because just bought new run flats all the way around.

I think black rims look great (and I don't have them).
The problem is, as I see it, that black rims need a chrome or brushed rim, chrome lugs and a chrome center cap. You can find the rim and sometimes you can find the lugs but you don't ever see the center cap and that's why I've got chrome rims today. If I ever find some like I just described, I'll buy 'em. |
I just started a thread about some wagon wheels with micro fractures inside. I'm looking for some chrome wagon wheels. (wanna keep the C5 stock) What condition are yours in?
|
My opinon, NO! just my 2 cents. I think they are dead!:ack: :nono:
|
My wagon wheels aren't chrome there silver...but they in great condition
|
I like the polished look best. Like black too, but only with a polished lip.
|
I don't like all black wheels because none of the details of the wheels show up.
Chrome makes the car look more for show, and less serious about performance. I don't know why so many people cannot wait to trade their stock wheels for chrome. I will always stay with the stock Z06 wheels.... they make the car look like a serious performance car without all the bling. |

As far as the black is concerned, you gotta have some chrome or they look flat. |
I think black rims looks good as long as they have a high polished or chrome lip on them. Just my opinion!

If you go with black rims, the polished lips do best IMO. I prefer chrome or high polished on a black car, but there have been black cars here with black rims that look great.

All black looks like cheap donut spare. Go with a chrome ring, and maype some stainless fasteners around the wheel and it looks like a million $$$.
|
I think they look alright......

Black rims....blah!!
Black rims look cheap...take value from the car
|
They look great up close, but looks like your hub caps fell off from a distance.:smash:
Then you have to think about the added weight. Wheels are un-sprung weight, these will take more power to turn. Most after market wheels weight 5 to 10 pounds more then stock. Think about the stuff we do to get that 1or 2 extra HP. Why would you want to lose any?:smash: |
Count me in with the "black is beautiful" crowd... I love the look but as so many mentioned a polished lip is a must (IMHO). EFI-1's ride makes it hard to argue otherwise
I don't have after market rims at this point but when I do go that route; my centers will no doubt be black :D Ahui hou  Mark |
