Vettes vs Vipers day at No Problem Raceway

http://www.msgccc.com/VettesVsVipers07/

snagged a few pics between runs this morning. (excuse the church pics - that was down the street from our B&B in Donaldsonville, LA)
With full bellies and the top down, it was a beautiful night for cruising the town!

Once the fog lifted this morning we hit the road course -
Fun Fun!

Yea, but they really kept it slow this year...

I saw that. I didn't run the road course, but I did drag race. I was in my C5.

My BestTime: 12.797 @ 109.95 with a 1.971 60'.

2004 Corvette Coupe LS1 & 6-speed
Mods: Vararam CAI and Corsa cat back
Tires: 295/35/ZR18 Goodyear F1 SuperCars

I'm happy with that, since it is stock. I'm sure a better driver could have got more out of it.

RainJ 03-13-2007 10:40 AM

The first leader that took our group out on the road course ran it slow, but it was early, track was damp, fog was still lifting, etc.

Next three times out there I was able to hit 103, 105, and 110 on the first straightaway. Seemed everyone was able to drop back and open it up unless they were behind that blue viper! hahaha

My arms and shoulders were so tired by the end of the morning that I didn't feel confident going on to the 1/4 mile run. I watched and cruised on back to Biloxi.
(did get to see that GMC 4x4 crew cab run the quarter mile- that was funny!)

ZBRA,

Man I didn't see you there, how is the 94 coming along?? That is good times with a stock car...

RainJ,
I was riding with a guy and we got ok on the strait but in the curves, were it is fun, we were doing 20-40 :ack: Last year they really let us push it with some hot laps at the end. I kept on with Laddie and Mike most of the morning but never did get the go. I think that moron that put the new Z06 in the tires had them scared...

Daniel

RainJ 03-13-2007 11:50 AM

yea, that kid was 27 in the new Z06... everyone was just shaking their heads at how he reacted coming into that last turn.

The leaders had been slowing everyone down on that end because the retaining wall was removed.. so we all assumed EVERYONE knew to slow down there until you hit that front straight.. ah well - his loss.

I didnt get any pics of the damage, but looks like he needs a new front end cap and driver's quarter panel.. and front lower spoiler/airdam. Paint and polish and he and his $75,000 Vette will be back on the road again.

Next year I will do a few trips on the road course and then save myself for the drag strip.

The '94 is nothing more than a frame, body, and wiring harness right now. It's time to start putting it all together. I'm just waiting on a few more parts and a lot of free time.
