Have squeeking accessories? Go get a Goodyear Gatorback belt!

My AC has been acting up for a few months... squeeking badly and getting very annoying/embarassing. I didn't think it could be the belts because I had just completed my cam intall w/ an ATI super damer and brand new belts.

I replaced the AC idler and was about to replace the AC tensioner when a frien and I started to dig deeper. The instant you sprayed the belt w/ WD-40 the squeel went away and instantly returned, so it was the belt.

Replaced the NAPA/Gates AC belt today w/ a gatorback and intantaneous relief no more squeeking.

I would have suggested the tensioner based on my past experiences with mine going bad. Glad you got the problem before it left you stranded (as mine did twice).

Good Year Gator belts rock! I am even using them with my blower setup

GatorBacks

Will never go with anything else. Just looking at the design, makes all other belts seem 'old school'. Great product.

Veddy Interesting!!! I just got a Gatorback to throw in the tool box as a back up for the track car. Maybe I'll put it on and keep the old belt as a back up.

Funny you should say that...I just did the EXACTsame thing! I just swapped it earlier today.

Thanks for mentioning this. I was about to order a new ac idler pulley and ac tensoiner pulley. Hey, if it doesn't fix it, I will still have great belts.

I've been fighting the dreaded squeak battle. I replaced my belts with a gatorbacks, but the squeak returned in the A/C belt system. So I replaced the A/C Idler and the squeak returned. My solution for now, no A/C belt. Next up is a new A/C Tensioner.

^ Wierd... I found out mine was the belt by spraying WD-40 on it. I thought I had been spraying the pulley so I replaced the idler, then I was going to replace the tensioner when that didn't work, but my buddy convinced me to re-spray and it was indeed the belt.

I used Gatorback belts for both when i did my cam install a little over a year ago. Never had any issues. great product !!

I went to a goodyear tire and battery place and told them i wanted to buy a belt. They wanted to install it for me, but I politely declined. I did buy the belt though!

Anybody have part #s for the two GY belts? 2000, if it matters. :bigears

I've been having an intermittent squeak depending on the outside temp, so figure I'll start with the belts.
