How Many of You "08 Buyers are Planning on a C7?

:D

Thought I'd put this out there. With the C7 rumored for 2010 as a 2011 model, and also rumored to get the LS7, and almost certain to get a new body style, new interior and electronic features how many of you who will be pulling the trigger on the '08 are planning on flipping it for a C7?

505hp in the base car???

My C6 won't be replaced with another C6, but with a C7.

How many of you '08 folks will be buying C7s in 2010 or 2011?

If I were to get an '08 in the coming months I wouldn't be getting a C7 until a few years into the model run and if I were to get an '09 C6 it would likely be even further yet before I pulled that trigger.
Either way I would likely wait until the 2nd or 3rd model year (for price, feature and quality/new model quirk reasons as I did with the C6) anyway so maybe I should consider an LS3 C6 to hold me over?

JVM225 05-13-2007 08:24 AM

I'm holding out for the C7.

TRAYC7 05-13-2007 09:36 AM

That is exactly what my plan is..... I get one every 2 or 3 years... so my hopes the 08 will take me to the C7 :yesnod:

CaBhaal 05-13-2007 09:51 AM

Once my 2007 C6 is paid for, I will consider getting a C7. The timing should be about right. The C7's will have been out for a few years and most of the bugs worked out.

Of course, I'll have to see what they look like before I make my decision. I was never a fan of pop-up headlights and the only reason I considered a C6 was because Chevy put fixed headlamps on it.

'08 in August and C7 during the second year (I never buy the first year of a new generation)

That sounds about right. A 2013 C7. Those numbers are starting to sound like A6 territory for me. Of course I, and Social Security, must survive that long.

Naustica 05-13-2007 11:03 AM

I'll wait and see what's out there at that time.

I'm not really brand loyal and C6 is my first corvette. I've no problem with buying something other than C7 if something better is out for similar or cheaper price.

Evilways 05-13-2007 11:08 AM

This is all a moot point right now, as that in a few years we might be in a HP "rut" like in the mid '70's and the options we may have is a flexfuel300HP DOD or a Ecotech in the vette( doubt it, but ya never know). If the next gen offers a paddle shifted 500+HP version, I'm there.

mikesul 05-13-2007 11:12 AM

My ordered '08 will be paid for, but I won't consider a C7 until 2-3 years into the model run. That will give time for more enhancements to the C7 and hopefully lots of improvements.

TexJeep 05-13-2007 11:13 AM

Well..... the rational response is that I'll wait and see the C-7, but the somewhat embarassing fact is that when I see a new generation, I just gotta have one! There is no end to my ability to talk myself into it.

What Tracey said.

My 05 will be replace with an 08 and sold in August or September with close to 60,000 miles.
It looks now, and will look then, like it just came off of the showroom floor.

The higher than average mileage will drop the price a few thousand dollars, and perhaps put it in reach of someone that could not otherwise afford a C6.

I will do the same thing with the 08 - 3 years with 10,000 summer roadtrips each year.

nah, I like to get the early ones. I'm hoping to get another delaminating top.

I'm leaning towards a short wait for an 08. The numerous upgrades for 08 is likely to yield an overall product that is quite desireable and reason for me to pass on the heavy 07 discounting. An 08 purchase in 07 with a flip in 11 or 12 would be about perfect for me.

Idaho Mark 05-13-2007 11:27 AM

I now have an 2006 LT1 because I like my sports cars clean and simple and I trick them out the way I like. I will keep this car and wait until the second year of the C7 and get one in the base LT1 style and trick it to my liking.
You guys know this new kick butt ZO7 and the up coming C7 will only make things worse for us because we have to take these cars into a Chevy dealer who in many cases are no match in class for such a car.

Cinci92 05-13-2007 11:28 AM

I got my 07 last Oct. It was my first vette so I plan to keep it until it dies...the car is just too much fun to think of parting with it. However I plan to add a garage buddy for it in the 3rd year of the C7 run.

AP 05-13-2007 11:40 AM

Not me ... with the Corvette being a toy ... I will probably not buy another one for 6-7 years minimum.
