Z06 Springs
Can C6 Z06 springs be installed on a C6?
Are there any advantages in handling over the stock spring rates? And can someone post the spring rates (front & rear Z06 vs. stock C6). |
yes, they can be installed on a C6. also, the C6Z shares one of its springs (i think its the rear) with the
C6 Z51 i dont think the Z springs are too stiff. on a track at least, they are too soft is why people go to the t1 springs. |

The following chart shows some C5 and the C6 anti-sway bar sizes and transverse leaf spring rates: http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...rings_comp.jpg I found it interesting that the 'base' C6 has a stiffer rear spring rate than the Z51 optioned C6. |

Do it and be the Guinea pig for the rest of us. My Z51 even with the Bilstein Sports I upgraded to seems on the soft side to me. This car is fast around turns, but man it is soft like a Cadillac.

Tim It rides like a buckboard with that much air in the tires. I couldn't believe what a difference it made. I'm also surprised how low the spring rate on the C6 Z51 is - that almost looks like a typo it's so low! |
Let's not forget that the Z06 has much heavier wheels, brakes, and tires than the standard C6 and that every pound of un-sprung weight is equal to 6.5 lbs of chassis weight.

Can you run z06 springs on a f55 suspention. Also what are the T1 springs and who offers them and are there any part numbers out there for the. I want to beef up the f55 suspetion but I want to keep the ride selectability. I have hotchkis sway bars on there right now. Also what about the front leaf spring is it different on the z06 and do you think i can get any advantages on installing it on my car. The one I have on it right now is already geting replaced becasue it broke.

Shocks a.k.a dampers, dampen the springs, I wouldn't change springs on a F55 car.
T1 is a class of racing in the SCCA and GM makes the T1 parts for the Corvette, even hard core guys think that T1 is too much for the street. |
You dont think it would help the wheel hop at all. right now my car i dont think handles all that great

I installed a Z06 rear spring in my '05 Z-51 - great results. At the same time, I installed Bilstein shocks and C5 Hotchkis front and rear sway bars. Now, it handles the way I like...
