where to get the painted front license plate surround
 

the part that goes around the front plate. Im gonna bit the bullet and put the front plate on, tired of being harrased:( :(

what keeps it on?

Both front and rear are snap fit fastners

If it attaches like the stock trim plate, the license plate slides into a groove in the trim piece, and the two screws that go through the plate hold everything on. The top has two tabs that slip into the bumper just like the cover plate.
I just went with the factory black trim piece that came with the car.

I got mine from Kewl Auto also. Very nice product.

You can also get them from places like VetteShop, Mid-America and Ecklers.

All of the vendors mentioned get theirs from Kewl Auto. I would do a search IRTs Kewl and their lack of customer service and the time it takes to get anything from them.:ack:

I took the stock GM one (was a $12 mandatory option here in New Jersey) and sanded it smooth and painted it Pewter. Inexpensive, no waiting Mod that any of us can do. You don't need to buy an after market smoothie and either prep it and paint it or spray with Duplicolor rattle can.:thumbs:
