The basics we look for in an instructor are:

Exceptional Communication skills and can take control of any situation ( safety reasons quickly)

Previous teaching skills in a professional environment is very helpful.

Understands different student learning abilities ( verbal vs. kinetic vs. visual)

In the paddock and off the track, great listener to the student and spends time answering any and all questions.

Knows or can quickly learn a particular circuit.

Knows car handling characteristics.

Knows and understands the differences and benefits of a momentum car vs. hp car and how each can complement the other.

First aid and CPR helpful.

Being a Professional race driver does not always mean good communicator and teacher.

Instructors are in the right seat of students cars at all skill levels durning all run sessions.

Those are the basics we look for.

Thanks so much for the info.

There has been great interest in the NCM HPDE and Spring Mountain is referring all inquiries to Roc and Adam.

There should be an enthusiastic turnout of both students and instructors.

We are really happy to have the NCM "Way Out West" and particularly to have choosen Spring Mountain as the host track for this event.

E-mailed Roc and got a quick reply. This sounds like fun even if it means a 1100 mile drive to get there  .
