Where is the crankshaft sensor?

hello everyone

I own a 1998 Chevy Corvette. After running the diagnostic, it came back with the crankshaft sensor code. I already bought the actual CKP sensor but I don't know where to put it! :smash:

Can someone explain to me where the crankshaft sensor is located so I can replace it. Pictures would be GREAT but just an explanation and point in the right direction would be fine. Thank you in advance corvette community!

If it's like most GM's-it around or behind the harmonic balancer. I'd have to check the service manual to be sure.

It's on the passenger side of the block.. close to the starter

The crankshaft position sensor is on the right (passenger) side of the engine behind the starter.

Is the car starting? If not than it might be the crank sensor. But you going to have to pull the starter down to take the crank sensor out.
If you have access to a scan tool look for a RPM signal and if you have a signal than the Crank sensor is not bad. Cause getting that starter out of the way might be a job. So make sure the sensor is bad.
