New C5 Owner - Questions
I just bought a '98 C5 and I am HOOKED!! I do have a couple of issues but I think I have an answer for one issue but need help on the second. I think the first issue is the "seat rock" issue where the seat slides on the tracks about a 1/2" front/back. I searched and found the fix for that one.
The next issue is that even though the seat backs lock, they still move back and forth about 6 inches. In other words, when it is locked back, it will still move forward about 6 inches. Does anyone have any ideas on that one? I've searched and haven't been able to find that problem. Thanks in advance, Ken |
6 inch seat thing happens to our 2000 vert and our 2001 coupe, I guess that's so you can get something out of the back easily without fiddling with levers and knobs.
As far as the "rocking chair" thing, yea there is a fix. |
Do a search on the rocking seat issue. Plenty of others have had it and there is a comparatively easy fix.

The seat backs are intentionally engineered to move forward about 6" for the reason described earlier. You did the right thing searching for the rocking seat fix before asking why it happens. You should get an extra star.

It pays to read the forums, I always wondered about the seats flipping forward 6"

Thanks to everyone for the info on the seats! I've never seen seatbacks that don't lock but OK. Thanks again.
