2003-2004s trouble free??

Sounds like the 2003-2004 model C5s have all of the major bugs or issues fixed by the end of the C5 run.. I might get into a 2003 or 2004 so, would they be as dependable as my 1996???

I would think more so. My 03 has done very well. I'll be adding another '03 or '04 as a dedicated track car soon. Of course there are several things that GM never fixed..... rear end leak, column lock etc.

Generally speaking, C5's are built better and are probably more dependable overall than C4's...but there's always exceptions to the rule.

Other than an oil burning problem with some of the '01's, most of the problems you will have with a C5 are fairly minor and there a lot of DIY fixes for them with the help of fellow forum members.

If you like your C4, moving up to the C5 is a no-brainer. It's a much better car in pretty much every way. Good luck!

I've had a leak in the rear end... happened only once after a long, hot & fast run in the desert. I had the stealership repair it under warranty.

Other than that... no problems on my '04.

My '04 has NEVER been in the shop. No problems, no recalls, no issues. Hard to beat that for quality.

thats what i was thinking when i bought my `04. i really didnt want a first gen `05 for said reasons. my `04 has 42k and i havent any problems. but i did read a service reciept from the previous owner and he had to take it back to the dealer around a few hundred miles because of a bad tire pressure sensor. good luck.

I have 04 coupe mn6 with 14K on the odometer. Its a buggy car. But nothing major. Its all little stuff you just learn to deal with. Overall though mine is very reliable at gulping gas and the money from my wallet. Worth every penny though.:D
