blue rotors ok?

c6z06, first track day (in this car) i turned the front rotors blue. there is some heat checking/crazing which looks fine to me, but is the blue ok? prior to this there have been only break-in miles on the car.

it happens, no worries

heck I would be worried if they weren't blue. This isn't the waxer section, Even the hats should be a nice rainbow color

Rocks doesn't it?

Bah . . . it's not hot enough until the calipers start changing colors ;)

Seriously, depending on the type of pads, not only is it normal, it should be expected. Hats, hubs, calipers, studs, just about everything should end up getting some decent exposure to heat. Heck . . . I managed to change the color of my aluminum rotor hats from black to . . . some goldish color after a couple sessions.

That just strikes me as funny :lolg:

I guess I'm doing something right.
A friend looked at my rotors and calipers and was
He thought I had a problem.

Wait until someone follows you into the pit and informs you that the rear end looked as though it was on fire with all the smoke roiling from underneath each time brakes were applied.

(I know, I need to follow break in proc. a little more closely):)
