Time for a Z - which one, 01 or 03?

After 5+ years with my '02 coupe, I'd like a second C5 - a Z this time. I am looking at two - an '01 with 58K, SW like my coupe - great shape. The other - an '03 with 56K miles, silver, also great shape, for $4000 more.

My coupe is screamin' at 80K, so the miles aren't a huge concern.

My question - can the 2001 be brought up to 2003 specs fairly cheaply? I must admit, I do like the white, but I am spoiled for HUD and wonder if I can get a few more HP from the 2001 LS6.

What would you do? :willy:

Both are basically stock, BTW.

Thanks,

Lee

Get which ever is easiest on your wallet - $4000 into the 01 and you're spanking an 03.

I love my EB 03 but I would go for the 01 in white since I like rare cars and love the white too:D

depends on price and if your gonna mod them. if the 01 is a lot less in price and you mod it...go for it. but if you are going to stay stock get the 2003 its a better Vette in many ways! :flag:

You know you could probably bargain the price down. 4k difference just because it's 2 years newer is a lot. Especially since the mileage is almost identicle.

I'd get him down to within 1-2k of the 01 and buy the 03.

Doesnt that mean that he can bargain the price down on BOTH, so they would still be $4K apart ;)

The '01 will hold its value better being white.

For $4K you can do headers and a cam and the '03 will be seeing taillights every time.

:yesnod:

I hadn't thought about doing some light mods to get the white one better than the stock '03. And, it is white.

I'll make an offer on the SW Monday - I'll let you know.

In over 5 years the folks on this forum have never let me down:cheers:

I'm sure he could but 4k difference for similiar mile cars is pretty big since theres no huge improvements over the 01. I've been keeping an eye on prices extremeley closely nation wide as I'd like to pick one up early next year.

I'd say he should have about a 1.5 - 2k difference for the years.

Either one would be great. Just make sure the 01 is not an oil burner. Good luck.

:iagree: If you are going to mod it, get the white...
