New LS Motor In My Driveway

I got the fever and have been looking for a while. So today I woke up and left the house at 7:30. I found an 02 with 12,000 miles. It followed me home today. Needless to say I am very happy with it.

My wife was having fun with the camera going down the road taking pics.

I also saw something I could not believe. That is fake fur over the fender lip, brake lights, on the running boards, etc...

That's a pretty nice donor car for your C3 LS project. I guess you could use the wheels and seats and just junk the rest of it. :D

I drive by one just like that every day at a used dealer and I keep thinking "if only I wasn't spending all of my money on the 72 I could probably afford that!"

Congrats on the new purchase.

I really like black but the Electron Blue is a real close second in my book. I think the LS motor going in my C3 is going to be a little meaner than this one is. It already has me thinking that my C3 is going to be scary as this car seems fast.

Durango_Boy 11-10-2007 07:30 PM

Great looking car Eddie. Good job. (Any thoughts about putting that 7.0L in your C3?)

Gordonm 11-10-2007 07:31 PM

Oh man you suck! You sold out on us.

Really I'm just jealous! Electron blue would be my color of choice. WOuld not mind having one of those in my driveway either. Good choice.

LS BS is getting 29 MPG on the interstate. Pretty good BS to me. You should not have told me to go take a look at this one. EB is a great color. It just cost me money that didn't have. :banghead: You were right, it is pretty clean and low mile. I will be taking car of the low mile thing pretty soon though.

TNBUSA and I went looking on Thursday of last week. We went specifically to look at a black 02 Z with 45k miles. The cars paint was very clean and looked good. It had long tube headers and ran great. Then Mike started noticing things that were not right about the car. We started talking about the car and it turns out that at some point this car has been raped big time. It had standard C5 exhaust, standard C5 intake, chrome wheels that were peeling worse than any I have ever seen, and an HUD that had fallen out of sight but still worked. We left but I was still drawn to that vette. I left early this morning going out to see what else I could see for sale. I looked at a 16k mile Quicksilver GTO this morning that was mint. We could not get as close as I wanted and I told them I was going to look at the EB Z and I would get back with them. When I got in the EB Z, it hit me, the first black Z had standard C5 seats in it. Boy am I glad Mike walked across the street to look at this EB. Much better car.

Man, where does it end on that car? Don't forget the three Goodyears and one BFG, no clamps on the breather/intake system, no tire repair kit, HVAC system blows hot air on one side and cold air on the other, curb rash on the right rear wheel. No wonder we missed the seats, we just quit looking. :ack:

Since you're obviously a fake-fur fan, where in the world are you going to track down some in a good color that'll contrast well with blue? :D :D :D
Nice ride, by the way. I wasn't a fan when C'5-s were released but they've really grown on me.

not a bad looking rolling engine stand.

Nice vette Eddie. I couldn't make my mind up a C-5 or a Chrome bumper. Finally pulled the plug on the Chrome bumper. Great score, now go beat on it.

I thought that blue was meant for blue cars. How was I to know?

I think the black car must have been a theft recovery that was rebuilt or something. I am guessing Mazda of Knoxville is getting sicker and sicker.

I will admit it too. I was not a big fan of the cars either. They have obviously grown on me too. About the fake fur, :nono: not in this lifetime.

Thanks Buddy. I hope this doesn't knock me out of the good parking at the cruise in. I was knocking down 29MPG coming home with it today. Man, how awesome is that? I might have the 70 LS ready by cruise in, we will see.

Thanks Brent. I now have AC and a Cd player I can hear going down the road. No matter, I did not listen to the radio when I was coming home today. I was just listening to the car.

I agree with you Eddie. Black is the way to go, but EB is a very nice color and I think I would of made the same choice. Enjoy it & drive it in good health.

Just don't forget about us C3 guys!!!!

I am not going anywhere. I still have the 70 and it has some work to be done. The Z will be getting more attention but the 70 will not be left out.
