ZZ-4 and Short Water Pump ??

Will a short water pump fit on a ZZ-4 with the plastic timing cover?

Yes. I've got a fastburn 385 which uses a ZZ4 block and a short water pump.

Thank You,

I guess I have no more excuses not to buy this from Scoggins and Dicky.

ZZ4 /short pump

Actually depends on the pump - not all will clear completely. I used a GMPP short aluminum pump and had interference with one bolt head. I turned the head of the offending bolt off down to the flange and milled a screwdriver slot into what was left to get clearance. You can also change the cover to a steel one if you want.

Didn't think about that. I just assumed he was using the stock short pump off of his original motor. That's what I used initially and had no propblems with the plastic cover. Later switched to a Weiand aluminum short pump, no problems with that one either.

The short pump that I will be using is from STEWART COMPONENTS
