how do you keep a black car clean?

I picked up my 05 vert yesterday, It was cleaned and waxed by the seller, but when I got home there was noticable road schmutz on my car. The roads on Long Island were a little wet but it wasent raining. Anyway, is there a soft brush or somthing you use to clean your car without having to wax again?

Welcome to the Black club, we all have to be slaves to the beauty of Black. Its rough to keep clean but worth the trouble imo. Get yourself some zaino & a California Duster.

Do NOT drive it! :D

Between washes/waxes, try detailer and micro fiber towels... And a California Duster should have come with the car... because you're gonna need it!

Try to use the California duster as little as possible because there have been cases where small particles have scratched or caused swirls in the paint. I use mine only when don't have enough time to wash and in a hurry. Congrats and enjoy your CORVACIOUS new ride

Cannot be done - ya just have to live with the fact that black cars get dirty - quickly.

trade it in for a new JETSTREAM BLUE... Ok, ok.. Well while you got an awesome color, it is a PIA to keep clean.. One reason why I'll never buy a black car again.. Try as best you can and enjoy it..

keeping a black car clean is not a "do it yourself" project.....it is a career choise. :lolg: paint it white. ;)

I agree! Seven years of black cars was enough for me, but, they are beautiful when clean!

Good luck, and remember, wax on/wax off!

o.k. :toetap: so now you are going to rub in the retired crap. so that means that when i see you/your car in january there won't be a SPECK of dust on it, right? ;) :D

I love my black vette and wouldnt trade it for any other color..but when it came to getting a new garage mate I choose a white VW EOS. I must ay it is much easier to keep looking good.

It will be squeaky clean when I leave the house, but it won't be when I pick you up.
