Lowering Front End

How do I lower the front suspension on a 84 vette. I have the longer
bolts forthe rear end, grade 8 with castle nuts. Thanks in advance.

Re: Lowering Front End (batmite)

The front is more involved. There are shims you can replace to get maybe 1/4-1/2". After that you gotta get custom cut springs. Costs $$$$

Re: Lowering Front End (batmite)

You can get the wedge kit at Mid America or Ecklers pretty cheap. But since your car has the old style mounts, you'll have to upgrade the mounts as well. Still I think you can get away for less than $50. I got about 3/4" of lowering with the wedge kit. Part of that was taking out some shims the factory put in above the spring mount. There are also pads on each end of the factory spring that are 1/2"-3/4" thick. I have talked to guys who have taken these out. One guy said that is the way he lowers all of his C4's. I left those on my car. You can see a pretty good before/after comparison from lowering my car at the bottom of this page (the next to last pic and the one above that): http://home.sprintmail.com/~mrdave/corvette.html
