ZR1 poster printing
Hey all, anyone know how I would go about getting a license or revenue percentage deal to print and sell Corvette posters?
My brother created a 28" x 17" print ready poster file (see avatar) to print off here at work. I can print a bunch of them if I wanted to but how would I go about legally selling them to anyone interested in buying one? |
I would assume you'd have to start by contacting GM. They'd probably want a huge percentage of the revenue too. I have heard they are pretty strict about the name and logo though so I imagine they'd say no.
BTW, it looks like it would be very nice and if you decide to print and sell them without GMs approval, sign me up for one. |
I figure a "poster" will be about as close to owning one as most folks including myself will get

A Big Hello from Forest Hill, Maryland
Poster sounds nice, send me one.

Maybe you could give them away and people could just send you donations. Just let people know how much they should donate. ;)

Just set up a table at events. It's not like they have goons patrolling car shows.

Talon 90 is exactly correct. Several years ago at Bloomington Gold I had the opportunity to talk with a gentleman who was involved in the licensing/trademarking of the diecast and other items for GM. They strictly enforce things and many times 'tips' are turned in by other vendors re someone selling a new product that appears to be unauthorized. The poster idea is fine, but you need to play by their rules.

Good advice, most of it I assumed was the case.
I do like the donation idea, but I'm sure I wouldn't be the first person to get popped trying that. It turns out I am going to run these with another job and net about 1000. Would it be illegal to offer them for free, you pay shipping ($9.99)? Either way, I think I'll just give them away to customers and what not. I don't really need the $ especially for the trouble it could bring. I guess at least I have an ass kickin' avatar  |
