A company is starting to make high quality reproductions. Manufactured in fiberglass just like the originals, they will ship with a smooth gelcoat finish, ready for sanding, priming, and painting. They install with double-sided tape (pre-affixed) or permanently with screws (also included). Price will be around $495.

When they get to be about $100 it will be worth it.

What a f***en rip off, they are worth no more than $50 a piece for real ones, what is so frigen special about them? Reproductions in fibreglass are certainly not worth any more.

You can buy a whole front bumper for under $500 so what makes these so valuble?

It was not just the grand sports that came with them either, every Japan spec C4 left the factory with the same flares as well. So its not even like as if there were only less than 1,000 cars to leave the factory with them, there were many thousands.

There are 2 types of rear fender flares.

There are the GS coupe rear fender flares that we have all seen. They go over the top of the wheel well and extend down over them slightly to the body side molding.

There is also something called a Export fender flare which were required on all European C4s with the 11" rear wheels. These are essentialy rear extentions of the above flare, extending the flair father down the rear of the wheel well.

Yes, and they are not the ones im talking about, the Japan spec export cars have the same units as seen on the grand sport. The euro spec is not what im refering to.

Not sure, but I thought the rear flares were on all export cars, not just those with 11" rear wheels.

Sorry you feel that way, Case. If you have a source to create the molds and lay these up in fiberglass and end up with a quality part exactly like the original for $50 a pop, you and I need to talk!

When they were available through GM, the price was well over $300 each. After pricing the cost to develop the MOLDS for these things, I have a better appreciation for what it takes. The GSR's price of $510 per pair (our members get a discount) includes shipping, and they come with double-stick tape already affixed as well as screws so you have your choice of how to mount them.

But again, if you have a cheaper source for them, sign me up! :)

Nope, just a handful of 'em, such as the Japan exports, not the MAE Europoean exports.
