Pics: New Torque Thrust D clones for my 67
I just got my brand-new Torque Thrust D clones from PS Engineering! PSE calls them their Trans Am wheel. Size is 15X7, with 4-inch backspacing and zero offset. Can hardly wait to get tires on these and see how they look on my 67 roadster. Yippee!
I just LOVE the thin, straight spokes and the overall look on a Sting Ray. These are the closest I've found to original American Racing Torque Thrust D wheels from the 60s. Call me Happy. :) :) :) :) :) All four, one with lug nuts http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ls/4wheels.jpg Spokes, angle view http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...eels/Angle.jpg In bright light http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...els/Bright.jpg Detail of spokes http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...eels/Spoke.jpg Front, back inside http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...eltriangle.jpg |
Very nice. Do you have a set of '67 ralleys for sale?

How many C3s are there on Guam? |
Very nice. I like the period styling and size.

Louie,
Please post a picture after you get the tires mounted and the wheels on the car. Sweet looking. |
Can you give us an idea of price and does Phil Smith make them in 6-inch widths?

Louie,
Those are Saaaaweet..... I second the "please post pic's when mounted" RK |
SWEET!!! Gotta get a set!! Waht size tires you thinking??
About what did they cost?? |
:bigears I'm ready to make the plunge myself and TTDs is exactly what I have been thinking. Based on other threads I have pretty much decided on 15x7 with 3.75" BS. I haven't priced them yet so I am anxious to hear your response.

Good Choice!
Louis, Stop screwing around :toetap: and get those bad boys installed. A set of red lines would set that goodwood green on fire.
PS: I have decided to leave the smaller steering wheel on for a while. If I change my mind you are first on the list to try it out. Good Luck Earl |
Phil from P.S. eng. is a great guy and his wheels are a great value. We use his minilite reproductions for our road race inspired vettes. The machining is excellent. Well worth every penny spent for a quality set of wheels that fit right. You made the right choice.

I have those wheels in 15X8.5. Great wheels. I left mine in an as cast finish.

Louie,
Very nice! Those spoke bends should easily clear the calipers. And what can I say about Goodwood Green....;) |
those wheels are gorgeous!!! the nicest i have seen.
$$?? can you explain those center caps?? |
Those look great! A few questions:
Do they clear your calipers? Can you order them drilled and tapped for American-style five-ear center caps? |
Nice choice of wheels! Price?
I, too, appreciate the "back in the day" look of TT D's on a C2. |
Louie,
EXCELLENT choice! You're gonna luv the look. Gives just the right nostalgia look. Here's a couple of closeups of mine which are 15x6 and come to find out are true vintage Torque Thrust's. Click on the C2 registry for an overview look. http://i25.tinypic.com/vdguxd.jpg http://i31.tinypic.com/2llojeg.jpg Enjoy! Jim |
Louie, congrats on the new toys!
Jim, Who's spinners are those, I like the way they set off the TTs. Thanks, Scott |
