I disagree. This is no different then the when the ZR1 came out in 1990. The base price of coupe was $32,000 and the ZR1 was $70,000. It's just a step up in the line. You can still get a 436 HP car for the low $40's.
Dave gets to have all the fun. Will Miss America be at Toys for Tots this year also? ;) |

The ZR1 is certainly awesome HOWEVER I think it represents a severe departure from the spirit of the Corvette. Up to now Corvettes have been accessible to most of the middle class. Everyman's sports car....even if he has to scrimp and save to own it.
The ZR1 is a wealthy man's car. It will become an onerous status symbol, and , mark my words, some ( or many ) owners will not be "Corvette people" at all....just wealthy status seekers for whom a couple hundred grand is a trifle. just my opinion, the car is great , the results may not be. |
Perfect night ... Miss America and the ZR1 ... you The Man, Dave!! :smash: :smash:

Both are beautiful examples.....

I hope that color is available on the 09 non-ZR1's. I'll be back in the market and that color would force me to buy another C6 even though the C7 is just around the corner.

I disagree. I live in L.A. and I see cars on the street on an almost daily basis that most people only get to see in magazines or car shows. The ZR1 probably won't even turn heads, except for true car guys (and gals). It doesn't even look that different from a regular C6, unless you know what you're looking for. |
I think I am in love again!

I disagree, a 620hp supercar for around $100K (MSRP of course). Im pretty sure you cant buy that level of performance in any other production car at that price. And "Everyman's sports car" is a Mustang:rofl: |

I almost forgot there are Vettes in those photos. :smash:
