 that the key codes are printed neatly for all to see. If this car's near anybody here, have a set of keys made for it and cruise it when the owner's out of town.

By the sequence number of that car, it probably was built in early June. It didn't sit around very long as the sale date is June 25th. May have been customer ordered.

I'm glad this was posted. I just received one of these ithe mail last week after contacting the original owner of my car. Luckily he sent it along with some other receipts and loan paperwork. I did not realize it was the official GM bill of sale. Pretty cool.

GCCCH-
How didja contact the original owner? you must have been lucky and picked up a car with a clear lineage of owners... I'm 4th owner and would LOVE to contact the original owner (or first two for that matter), but with the Privacy Act and all I feel I'm gonna lose out. I know the original dealership where the car was sold, even spoke to the owner who was there when the car was sold but they chuck their records every ten years so... Any ideas how to contact an original owner aside from dating lady luck?
ps- sorry to hijack this thread!!!

Do a DMV / title / registration search in your state or the state that the dealership was located in. I did mine in Texas, paid $15 got lots of info, but my trail came to an end in the year 1980 as in that state they no longer had records on microfilm prior

I guess I was lucky... but as I was looking at my car I asked the seller (3rd owner) if he had the name of the guy he bought it from. I tracked him down using Yahoo People Search. The POP had the original owner name and I reached him the same way. Both turned out to be good guys that were very willing to talk. All good stuff about the car.

Thanks all... I'll have to see if Kansas is amiable towards nosy NorthWesterns! I'd really like to get a chance to speak with the original owner; maybe it's just me, but if I sold a car some 20 years ago and the current owner called to ask a question or two I'd think it was cool. Thanks on the compliment, too! It's great to be here at CAC.

I know this thread is 9 years old, but I just found it.

427SIXPACK could you contact me about this vin number please?

Brad,

You need to send a PM (personal message) to 427SIXPACK.

bigredbrad 03-29-2017 06:39 PM

Ok, thanks. I thought 427SIXPACK might see this and we could talk here, possibly generating more interest or the person that bought the paperwork might see it being bumped up to the top

I have owned 1968 L71 #422152 for about 15 years.
