how much use?

How much do you plan on using the winch? Every time you trailer? I bought one from walmart ... looks more like a boat winch for like 80 bucks its a temporary mount so it stays in the back of the truck.... I have used it two times and only only have it just in case the ole Z can not power it self back on the trailer... The two times i used it was on a friends honda then a cobra. :-) worked great a link below is the style of winch.. not bad for a limited use winch.

I have this one from Harbor Freight If the car rolls, the 3000lb poull should get it up on my trailer. You can alos use a single pulley sheave and increase the pulling power.
I use a 12v marine battery to power it.

Stay with the Superwinch, the HF ones are slow(and crappy).
We pull a vintage Nascar into the trailer with the GP 2300 but the GP 3000 is only $ 20 more ($289 at Summit).

Superwinch's have good quality. I actually use a Superwinch ATV 1500 to pull formula cars in to my trailer. It's 8 years old, works like new and cost $105.

Ramsey and Warn are excellent too.

Ramsey made in the USA

I just installed a Superwinch 4000 in my trailer this weekend. A very nice, quality piece of equipment. Jegs actually sells the 4000 slightly cheaper than the 3000.

what kind of a manual winch would work ?
any boat winch?
I want one to keep in my tool box just in case....
and I will set up a removable mount in the front of my trailer.
