GPS/Nav ?

Is Pioneer the only double din system with the nav built in, i.e. no CD's needed?

Fuzzy Walnuts 04-22-2008 08:09 PM

Nope. Although the lower end Pioneer models are DVD based nav units.

Off the top of my head, Kenwood and Alpine have units that are not disc based.

Randy93 04-22-2008 09:00 PM

thanks, I will check them out.

I love how the Garmin works, this is the only reason why I will be installing a Kenwood in the next month or so.

Which Kenwood did you buy?

nextime 04-23-2008 10:39 AM

I am buying this one..... Kenwood KVT-719DVD

1FASTVERT 04-24-2008 03:41 AM

I am buying the Kenwood KVT-617DVD with the Kenwood KNA G510. I also bought Focal 165 KF for the fronts and 130CA1 for the rear. I have an Alpine PDX5 and a JL Audio 10W1. I can't wait to put this baby in. If you can afford the Focals then you should definately buy them. Good luck with whatever you buy.

The KVT-617DVD is 2 years old already and was released in 2006, must be getting it off Ebay.

pentavolvo 04-24-2008 09:58 AM

I have installed tons of kenwoods. The dnx7100 and its older counterpart. The new ones are supposed to be even nicer

nextime 04-24-2008 10:12 AM

That is a double din unit, the ones we were talking about were a single din unit.

pentavolvo 04-24-2008 01:41 PM

Actually snob, I am getting it from Car Toys. So quick to judge aren't we.

So quick to call somebody a name that really wasn't called for, how childish! I hope you feel better by throwing out your insult. You showed the forum your maturity level. I guess I could insult you back but I wont let you get the best of me.

I have been researching the Kenwood 617 and 719 on the internet so that is why I know the release dates on the units. Ebay is the biggest source of these KVT-617DVD units I have found at a reasonable price, I have seen cheaper too.

So quick to automatically think that I am getting off of fleabay. Sorry I just just trying to be humorous, guess not. You were the first to make that assumption. But when you assume you make an ass out of you and me. Sorry I just just trying to be humorous, guess not.I do like the 617 but I wish it had bluetooth.
Can you suggest a unit that has everything including bluetooth for the same money. I have not been able to find one without spending over $1000 for it. I do want to go DD cause there is too much cost involved in the labor to put one in right.

nextime 04-25-2008 09:49 AM

What is your price limit?

The Kenwood KVT-512 has all. These can usually be bought real cheap.

Randy93 04-25-2008 10:35 AM

I am looking at double dins w/built in GPS/nav, i.e. no CD's for nav.
