Wanted 1970 454 starter #1108400
I'm loking for one of these dated late 69 thru Jan. 1970. It's for a Feb. 2, 1970 car. Thanks

I'm looking for a 1100884 alternator. Finding a 1108400 is fairly easy but finding one with specific dates gets tough. I'm looking for the same parts you are looking for. In addition I need: 3940960 water pump, 1108400 and 1108429 starters, 7040204 Q-Jets, 1100900 alternator, 1970 454 fan shroud, chrome valve covers with drippers, original exhaust tips, black right side lower dash pad, dipsticks, oil caps, etc. All for January to March build 1970 Corvettes.
Thanks, Scott |
Yes, I know it's tough, I've been looking for over a year. I also need a 7040205 Q-jet carb. Scott PM me your phone number, lets talk. Thanks, Dallas

For starters and other electrical components try:
http://www.johnpirkle.com/ For carb try: http://www.customrebuiltcarbs.com/ Also put a saved search in Ebay because these things pop up all of the time. Be prepare to pay $400 to $1,200 for the carb, depending on condition. I got a water pump from a guy that advertises in the Restorer Driveline magizine. He apparently has hundreds of W/P's. If you don't have that magizine let me know and I'll get his phone number to you too. I have a 6/27/1970 build date coupe that needs a starter, W/P, Alt and coil. But that's all. I have the original carb (thank God). Search Google for the part numbers regularly (i.e. weekly) as new stuff becomes available all of the time. Finding it isn't that hard. Finding it at a reasonable or affordable price can be. Good luck. Patrick |
Saw this 12/69 dated starter when I just did a Web search...

dt69usa has already sold his. I'll check with Zip. thanks for your help

I understand ZIP doesn't have them either. Try Paragon. But, as I am told by several people, avoid Chicago Corvette.

If you have some extra $$$$ lying around have a look at Ebay item 150250208675.
Not my auction. Jim |
Wrong date. That is a March 25 starter and may car is Feb 2. But thanks for checking. Dallas

I have one these 8400s they are hard to find.
It's rebuilt never been used since. I'm thinking of putting it on ebay but I want at least $400 for it. If you have an interest at $400 let me know and I'll auction it.

Don't forget 1970 was that unique year. A lot of bizzare things happened once the strike was over...
