C6 LED tail lights [Pic]
Looks like another new full replacement LED kit is out fot the C6.
http://images.marketplaceadvisor.cha...orvettebig.jpg The flags look cheesy but the round one is pretty nice. Here's what it says about them: C6 CORVETTE LED TAIL LIGHTS COMPLETE KIT 05- MARKERS, BACKUPS, etc. Make your 2005+ C6 Corvette stand out from the rest with the addition of our LED Tail Lights. The unique style not only looks great, but adds safety to your vehicle. The PlasmaGlow High-Intensity LEDs used in our Tail Lights light up significantly faster than stock incandescent bulbs, to give the vehicle behind you increased time to react. They are replacements for your entire Tail Light Casing. We have two styles of Tail Lights available, Circle Design and Flag Design. You can order them in any combination you desire, 4 Circles, 4 Flags, or a mix of both. Please specific choice when ordering. Please note that your turn signals will blink faster than your stock bulbs with LED Tail Lights installed. 1-Year Replacement Warranty. I 'm glad to see the aftermarket finally start tapping into C6 LED tail lights. They're pretty $$$ though. |

Are these lights made by the same company that make the LEDs for the C5 vette? Seems that the LEDs on the C5 are brighter and fill out the light assembly more. :flag:
|
Are they D.O.T approved?
|
I know the company (Brite Ideas) makes the 39-LED Painted to match brake lamp. They make the C5 LED tail lights. I know they are working on LED C6 tail lights, I sent them an email when i was inquiring about the break lamp assembly.
 |
They went through all the trouble of making LED lights but did not bother to add load resistors to make the turn signals blink normally? Chances are they are not DOT approved either which could cause some liability issues in the event of an accident.

I just spoke to Brian at FIA Performance who sells the Halo LED lights for the C5. He said that the LED lights for the C6 is still in production and it's going to be a few months before the first ones come to market. Also spoke with brite ideas and they said the same, they're in production.

They have actually been out for awhile now. Saw them at least close to a year ago. Non DOT, just don't like and toooooooo expensive for just lights!
