Taking Delivery Monday at National corvette Museum!

Well my wait is over! CRM Coupe was completed 4-28-08 and I am taking delivery on Monday May 19th! Anticipation is killing me. Been reading alot about Dead Battery syndrome in here and am a little worried about that. Any issues with the 2008s? Also and issues with the dreaded psiton slap on the 2008s? Tour starts at 7:45am and expecting delivery around 1:00pm. Anyone else taking delivery on Monday, if so hit me up via email! I will take lots of pics and post when I return! What a great forum.

It's about time..... Monday, eh? Glad you're gonna take pics, don't forget to post them up here (or we come in the middle of the night and take the car away...j/k).

Have a safe, and great trip back!

(no knowledge of piston slap. some knowledge of easily discharging batteries---if you want that ounce of prevention, buy a battery tender and use it. really.)

NCM Delivery

My wife and I picked up our CRM convertible back on April 23 and I can tell you that you are in for a real treat. The NCM staff treat you like royalty. The fine folks building these great cars are a blast to talk to as you work your way through the plant as well. You will be amazed at the amount of hand work that goes into the assembly of your car. When you get to the end of the line, try to get taken along for the dyno test run. I got to start a car coming off the line, but my wife did the dyno test and it looked like she had a lot of fun. Our day started at 7:45am as well, but we did not drive away until 3:45pm and did not even stop for lunch. Do be careful though as I think we left a lot of our remaining $$$ with the museum store! Shopping opportunities abound!

Have a ball!

PS Even though it has only been three weeks, this is the best car I have ever been in or near for that matter!

Have fun, you will love it.

You will have piston slap with almost any GM car. My 06 Trailblazer SS has it, my 00 C5 had it and my 05 C6 has it. I just got used to it.

 Congratulations, enjoy the day and look forward to your pictures.

Congratulations on your new Corvette. DBS went away in 2006. Don't confuse a dead battery with "dead battery syndrome". DBS is the seemingly unexplained total discharge of the battery in two days when it was parked and everything was done right. A dead battery is sometimes just a dead battery. Yes, these cars can be a little hard on batteries but this is not indicative of DBS. If you are going to leave the car for three or more weeks without driving plan on getting a battery tender. If you are going to drive it and enjoy it, don't worry about it. Worry about what happens, don't worry about what might happen. You'll live a longer happier life.
