Why we don't take our dogs for a ride in our Vette's
I thought this would discourage anybody from taking their best friend for a ride in their vette's.

Gives new meaning to that old bumper sticker.
Get In. Set Down. Shut Up. Hold on. |

My monster golden retriever just couldn't figure out how to sit comfortably in the '75. Eventually he laid accross the center console, which wasn't good. He hit is head a couple of times on the steering wheel and then dropped me into neutral.
We might try one more time... |
My dog is scared of the Vette…too loud for him
When I turn the car on he heads for the hills |
Once I get new seat covers, I never will. Now that he's 81 lbs. I won't either!

I have a Siberian Husky/wolf mix who really isn't so big on riding in the car (I guess she'd prefer to be pulling it). When I take her for a ride in my Z28 she can't fit in the passenger seat (she caught some size from the wolf part of her heritage and she's about 70 lbs.) and she winds up laying across the console, pawing at the controls. Like wjsullivan's golden, my dog has slipped my Camaro into neutral while we're driving. She usually gets really cuddly when we're under way. Wants to snuggle up to me while I'm driving. And, as a bonus, you can't get her fur out of the car after she's ridden in it. Alas, she will never ride in either of my vintage cars, now matter how sad that makes me.
Waddya mean? That aint no A's hat! |

Platzie,
Great looking 72!!! I read your profile... I've drawn a line or two. What kind of drawing do you do? Regards, Alan |
I no longer have a dog but I've seen enough dogs riding to know the proper place for them is in the lap of the driver with their head out the drivers window.
