Thanks! I know I appreciate those words. My only caution is, you know you gotta live with them, so.....I'd forgo the NPP open all the time. But I admit, that's just me. Many would choose a similar path as yours. Just my thoughts...good luck in any event.

We love you too, in a Vette platonic sort of way.

I know there are a lot of opinions on here and people getting in debates of what is better then the next thing on the C6, but when it comes to it we are all together. I'm building a new house and my next door neighbor is supposedly a big time lawyer around here. Well he has a $100,000 Mercedes and just bought a porche carrera (woopteedoo). He could not be a bigger A-Hole with all the trouble he has given me. All I have to say is I'm proud to be a Vette owner! There are only 5 houses in this neighborhood. I am the only one with a Vette. I'm guessing these people look down on me. Oh well. Anyways, as soon as this house is done they will be listening to my NPP's wide open 100% of the time lol!!! Stick together guys!

Let me make sure I understand this: you're going to intentionally run your Vette as loud as you can, all the time, and you think your neighbor is a jackass? Whoa.

Maybe he does look down on you, or maybe not, but it sounds like you look down on him too. In my experience, relationships like this are more often than not based on people not knowing each other very well.

Well, speaking as a lawyer myself, I'm not gonna claim there aren't plenty of jackasses in my profession, and you might be located right next to one. But in my experience very few homeowners will try to stop someone from building a house because they think he's too young for the neighborhood. Without the technical stuff, though, its tough to judge the merits of your side of the situation. And even if you are in the right, life's way too short to get a really good feud going with one of your neighbors if it can be avoided, which it usually can.

After all, this dude clearly likes hot cars, so you have something in common.

Well I thought this was going to be a thread on mutual respect in the Vette community but it is headed elsewhere and so am I.:leaving:

screw him. Enjoy your car and the house ... don't let him get to you .... do whats needed and forget the fool.

Hopefully it all works out. You should probably talk to him first since you are going to be neighbors. Maybe you misunderstood each other because you don't know each other.

So his beef isn't even really with you; you just got caught in the middle between this dude and the developer. Seems to me this one could go either way from here. Hell, take the guy for a ride in your car; maybe he's never even been in a Vette, and you can convert him!

dpigguy 06-25-2008 08:42 PM

to make sure I have it right:

- you are building next to a lawyer who has an issue with you doing same and
- you want to antagonize him more with NPP open 100% of the time.

does the word law suit for being a nuisance ring a bell? becareful or you may get to see him a lot more then you would like. :willy:
