Original numbers matching 427, 390hp coupe. 71k original miles. Excellent driver condition. PS, PB, AC, T/T, side pipes(N14). Vacuum system/wipers/etc work well. New BFG radials. We have the Protect O Plate, original keys and other misc documentation. We do NOT have a buildsheet yet(never took it apart to find one) Car runs and drives excellent.

Currently, the car has the incorrect intake manifold from a 1970 but we do have the correct aluminum 1969 intake for it. Also the car has headers but we have brand new correct manifolds and correct side pipes for the car that will come with it. MANY MANY more details....

Please PM me for more detailed info. This is my dad's car and I am helping him sell it due to his pending divorce. $35k..... You can also call me at 832-731-1961. Alan

Yeah I know....its a bad situation....His wife of 12yrs just sprung a divorce on him out of the blue....Actually we are about to post up his 67 427/390 4spd coupe and a 59' vette (driver w/ZZ4) for sale. I just wanted to do one at a time so its easier to keep up with.

I would really like to buy the 69 BB myself but....I already have my 71 SB I would have to sell first, plus come up with extra $$$ and I just can't get the money fast enough.

This 69' 427 coupe runs really good. We bought the car as it is right now a couple years ago and just drive it around town, local shows etc....Other then tires, few knick knacks etc...we haven't done anything to it. Its a blast to drive...We think the motor was rebuilt at some point in time, its got a pretty decent cam in it.....def not the L36cam. The car is about 97% original I would say and we had started collecting the parts to get it back to 100% original. He can give more details if anyone wants to know the numbers on all the components etc...I know he checked all that stuff when we bought it.

Oh man!! What a heart breaking story. Wish I could afford it, looks like a great car :yesnod:

Best wishes to your Dad. Hope everything works out.

Alan,
I might be interested but for in the mid to high 20s. But it does look like a nice car.
Let me know Joe

Real Nice Car!

If I was in Houston I would be tempted to sell mine and buy your Dad's. Its a good one! I could just bolt on my American Racing Mags and Wilwoods and have fun!

Sorry to hear about having to sell. Great car, love the color!

@33 this car is a steal, wish I had the coin to toss around, too bad its going overthere somewhere.

SoCalErv 07-01-2008 08:32 PM

I have seen this car several times at the Kemah car show and at local gatherings. The owner takes pride in ownership, you would not be disappointed.

It is in great shape and runs like a bat out of *ell.

The time is now to step up if you want a good car.

Is the car "sold"??

OK, here is the deal. The folks buying the car tell us the deal is done and to remove it from the sale adds..They are wiring the money transfer as we speak but it will take 3-5 days for it to clear. I will say I am a little skeptical on these over seas deals but.....they did jump first so we want to honor the deal with them. I won't be removing it from the adds in case this falls through. HOPEFULLY I will know something by the weekend.

Thanks for your patience guys! I would rather someone here in the states buy it personally so I know it will actually get used, not just sit in a garage somewhere but.....

Man just be careful, a lot of scams out there. They can 'wire' the money, someone picks up the car and title,(from a shipping company), and then the next thing you know the money somehow 'disappears' or never was really there from your account.

Good luck on the sale.

As always, be careful, but the European buyers are real. With the value of the dollar falling, they're buying classic American cars and shipping them overseas at a phenomenal rate. Right now in the C1/C2 for sale forum, there's a '64 in the same situation... the seller is waiting for a wire to clear before it's picked up and heads across the pond.

old motorhead 07-02-2008 09:16 PM

Take the bucks. Doesn't matter where they come from. As others have said, make sure the actual $'s are in your posession before releasing the car. Cashier's checks, MO's, letters or credit, etc.....doesn't matter. C I F (cash in fist) should be the only way the car should move. If nothing else, you'll get an education in global commerce. Let us know how it works out. That way we'll all get an education.

It's true that we Europeans do benefit from the strong € compared to the $......but don't forget I have to pay 31% importfees + local Belgian taxes + transport and all other import/exportformalities + registrationfee before being able to drive it here.
Nevertheless, I'm also looking to buy a nice & clean C3 ( 79 - 80 - 81 ) in the States, because there's much more cars offered FS, where as here locally the choice is very limited. And as everywhere you WILL have good and bad guys/girls...so there will probably be some dishonest people out here in Europe too.
But a private carbuyer - as myself - looking to buy 1 single car will definitely not try to rip you off, as he's taking also a big risk on buying a car "unseen"...so I think both seller & buyer have to bild up a good relationship and trust each other. Then the deal will work out fine. Just my opinion.....;)

I've been sending and receiving wire transfers overseas for nearly 30 years. Worst case scenario, you will have the funds deposited into your USA bank account within 5 business banking days. If the car does not sell, give me a call. Best of luck.

Thanks Todd...

I just got back in town. I haven't talked to my dad to see if he got the loot. The way it was going to work was, the people that want to buy the car, are getting the money wired to THEIR USA. bank account, then they will bring us the cash or cashiers check. We are not dealing with the wire directly. These guys are the ones that came and looked at the car. I will talk to my dad tonight to find out if he has seen anything. I have a list a members here I need to PM that are interested in it and waiting to see if the over seas deal goes through.

Thanks for everyone's patience and advice!
