How much RWHP to expect from ECS Supercharger?

Running standard pulley, I guess 6.5 psi (?) how much rwhp with everything stock, even the exhast manifolds? Also, can I used the vararam air intake with the ECS kit?

we need more info to help with a hp guess...
What engine??? LS2,3,7???

and no, the Vararam will not work... but I bet you can sell it pretty easy...

blackbird345 07-09-2008 01:46 AM

lol yeah I guess that would help huh? Sorry wondering about an LS2 MN6 with stock everything.

Mr.Big 07-09-2008 01:47 AM

1500 novi head unit?

5 Liter Eater 07-09-2008 09:40 AM

Thats all they sell anymore (1500). I'd guess 525-550 RWHP with everything else stock. I'm shooting for 600 with headers and their blower cam.

o0 zeno 0o 07-09-2008 09:54 AM

Yeah, I'd say ~500ish.

DOUG @ ECS 07-09-2008 10:07 AM

Bone stock we average around 525-550 with around a 500+ tq

with headers 550-575

headers and alky 600

headers, alky and removing the restrictor plate 675-725

headers, alky, and our blower cam, I still limit it under 725 because that is leaning on the stock bottom pretty hard already, but the torque numbers are higher.

An A6 car will be slightly less, usually around 500-525 stock, but we cap them around 600 either way to keep the trans alive.

Hope that helps!

I will also have a thread starting shortly with our new Novi 2200 self contained unit that will be available shortly for the big cube guys.

Keep in mind also that we can make whatever we want (within reason) these are the numbers that we feel comfortable with, and have proven to be reliable for street and track use.

blackbird345 07-09-2008 06:55 PM

Thats what I'm looking for...550 rwhp!!!! If I decide to go with headers after the car is tuned for bone stock, will I need to retune it?

Will the 2200 make more rwhp at the same boost level on a stock bottom LS7 than you've been making with the 1500? And if so what do you expect on a stock LS7 with the 2200 and headers/exhaust?

Technically yes, but the larger the head unit, the smaller pulley you need to have good low end boost. As it is I have one heck of a time to keep a stock ZO6 at 600/600 with the 1500, I have to drop timing into the single digits. It breaks 600 at or before 5000 rpm and it's just a fight to keep it down from there.
So I would only recommend the 2200 for forged guys looking to make big power. Way more than a stock block can handle.

Well mine has been ordered and hopefully I'll let you all know what my bone stock does....

Blue Toy 07-18-2008 01:38 PM

If you add the ECS kit to a bone stock LS3 A6 (without the Z51 package) should you change the torque converter and/or rear gears or is it a waste because you can't get the power to the pavement without drag radials?

Good question,
I have done 3.15 gears with the A6 and a 2800 stall and the car felt awesome! Although it did have drag radials, or an aggressive BFG (dont remember sorry) but the car hooked well and was/is very fast. I wish it was owned by a track guy, it probably would have gone low tens/ high nines.
I like the aggressive feeling to the car with the converter myself, some people feel they are "loose", it all opinion so you should drive a car that has that mod before doing it yourself.

hope that helps.
