OK, I know that the current (forum dealer) pricing for new '09 corvettes is the best it has been in a long while. And that "now is the time to buy" based on current GM incentives, the economy and available inventories. My question is: Do you think the current (or better) deals and incentives will carry into first quarter '09? I plan to purchase / order in March or April for spring / early summer delivery. If I buy now, I am not going to be able to drive the car until May anyways, as the "vette season" is quickly coming to an end up here in the north.:flag:

You never know what will happen next year especially since we'll have a new president. It could get worse but I seriously doubt it. If they don't control energy prices though I fear this country will have severe problems. If your job is real stable, have decent health care, I would say go for it now.

I cant look into my crystal ball right now :rofl:, but I'd guess (really wild) probably not as good in April of next year.

However, at least one thing is in your favor: the money you DON'T spend now is allowed to hopefully accrue some money. Therefore, maybe what you eventually spend is made up by what you "save/make" between now and then. Maybe.

Its the best time ever-vahhh to buy a vette. Q1/09 no deals notin-nada until end of Q2/09.

Where as I look into my crystal ball, .... a'yes 0% financing returns on the remaining 08's and latter on in Q3/09 GMS + cash back.

Buy now or wait????
 

I'm in the same quandary as you except I'm looking to buy used. If I can't find a car to buy this month I'm going to take a risk investing money and buy car next year.

One thing though, when I look on ebay and other places the number of new 08 vettes in inventory has got to be at an all time high. It's insane the number of vettes for sale right now so I can only imagine GM as a business can't sit on inventory forever and will probably do some sales event to further dilute the vette market. It would be neat to see the current inventory of vettes at GM now vs years past.

This is one of the reasons I'm being very strict on how much I'll pay today for a vette. I'm very concerned GM will pull some crazy *ss blow out sale to clear out the inventory hammering the used market. GM doesn't care one bit about existing customers used car values, not on their rader. I just don't think they'll sit on the inventory and I also don't think the economy is healthy enough to have a reasonable number of car buyers in the $40K and up range.

Of course I could be wrong and the economy could clear up quickly (i.e. gas back to $1/gallon would do it!!!) and I'll have missed my chance to buy.

Between the election, economy, and changes to GM and the B.G. plant I believe NOW is the best time to buy. Actually I think 2 months ago the prices were even better. New 09's below employee pricing... fantastic

I'm lookin for 0%, GMS, and good trade value toward a Z. I may be lookin for some time. :rolleyes:

I just had a bit of a chat with someone that's higher up in sales at a test drive event when we talked about the next thing for the corvette he mentioned 3 key things
1. The car will be priced above 150k (if you're in the market for a zr1 you might want to wait for next year)
2. The car will be limited production (with the new cars expect something like how ford did the gt)
3. The car will be on the road by the end of next year (with how things are going you should expect something new very soon)

Holy cow - this thread is over 10 years old.....how (or why) the heck did you dig this up????
