FS - LUK PRO GOLD clutch for '97-'04 C5, never been installed

The clutch is SOLD and on it's way to the buyer.

Thanks Jim!

This LUK PRO GOLD clutch (P/N 04-905) is new in the box, never been installed, and fits all manual trans. 1997 to 2004 C5 Corvettes. I bought this clutch for my '04 Z06, but I've decided to sell it because I need the cash for other projects.

Asking price is $300.

Due to the weight, I'd prefer the buyer be local to the SF Bay area and be able to pick it up. However, I will ship it anywhere within the Lower 48 states, provided the buyer pays all shipping costs. Greyhound Package Express will ship it to the Greyhound depot near you for about $100!

Great deal on a new clutch!

Someone in the SF Bay Area must need a new clutch for their C5 6 speed? This clutch sells for $800, at $400 it's a great deal!

FS - LUK Pro Gold Clutch - Bargain price!

Can anyone use this new clutch? I'll lower the price to $350!

I'll ship it to you for the actual shipping costs.

LUK Pro Gold Clutch

Thanks for the response!

The LUK part number for this clutch is 04-905. Their online catalog has some info about the clutch, but they don't seem to list the torque specs. It's considered a high performance clutch, but I'd recommend you call LUK directly to ask about them about torque specs.

You can see more info at: www.lukclutch.com

I'll get an estimate of the shipping charges for all interested replies.

Great clutch.... my experience with non-factory flywheels

I just installed this same clutch in my '01 Zo6 ( Luk is an oem maker but better performance)

I also bought the aluminum flywheel that was zero balanced as a unit to the clutch.

Had it installed..... and I had a vibration. It turned out after speaking with a GM engineer I know in Bowling Green that every LS1/LS6 was fired at the assembly plant in Romulus, and if the vibration equipment detected something out of spec (that can be felt physically) they would put weighted dowels in the factory flywheel.

Even though every "pro" shop (like LG Motorsports who I bought it from) said the engines are internally balanced..... it turns out that my '01 needed the weights.

Luckily, the shop still had the old flywheel in the dumpster.... and it had the balancing weights!!! It (mine) is actually externally balanced.

When I put the zero balanced flywheel/clutch assembly on...... the engine's true internal vibration showed it's colors.

The entire tranny/clutch had to come out again! :ack:

-The shop didn't have the equipment to measure the amount of imbalance (in ratio) to add to the new flywheel so we just resurfaced my old flywheel, installed the Luk clutch by itself, and it's smooth as glass. :)

The clutch itself is a terrific piece. Feels about like stock... NO chatter when engaging 1st gear from a stop, and it should hold up just fine to the low boost I'll be adding soon.

p.s. Anyone want to buy a perfect condition zero balance aluminum flywheel with only 50 miles on it? CHEAP! ;)

LUK Pro Gold Clutch

OK, how about I reduce the price to $300? That's a lot cheaper than even $485!

I checked the website mentioned above and couldn't find any listing for a P/N 04-905 LUK clutch. But,hey, I'll take your word for it.

If you can use this clutch, $300 is a great price!

I checked on shipping charges and it looks like I can ship it anywhere in California for about $60.

PM me if you're interested.

Don't listen to neg comments on this clutch or pricing.... just direct them to the LG Motorsports website to see the price for themselves...

I spent around $800 or this clutch and around $400 for the flywheel. (I bought it as a total package so I don't know the exact number.)

I just sold my aluminum flywheel....

Good luck with the clutch, it will go to a lucky owner.

-For the guys out there on the fence.... it's the same manufacture as the OEM LS6 clutch (which is also the same as the new LS3) except the friction material is a little more stout.... yet from experience listed above it still doesn't chatter.

Great clutch... buy with confidence, and the price is about 50% below list!!
