Idle Speed

I own a 2007 coupe with 11,000 miles. I noticed that at 10,000 miles my idle speed (in drive standing still) is around 500 (and shakes a little) when it used to be 550. After I drive a while and stop it someimes goes back up to 550. Lately it is even a little less that 500 but only sometimes. Do I need something checked?

Is anybody out there.

I would try some Chevron W/Techron fuel system cleaner in a tank of fuel first. That may cure your problem.
Do you have an aftermarket air filter that has oil on it, if so you may have gotten some oil on the Mass Air Flow Sensor. If that is the case buy a can of MAF cleaner and give it a shot.
Good Luck. :flag:

People are probably afraid to post in this thread. Some people are afraid of clowns.

It's probably just that your speedo is off. The idle speed is controlled electronically. At that end of the speedometer, it's pretty inaccurate.

Nothing to worry about as long as your engine does not stall or have surging problems as I am assuming your engine is stock.
