Anyone trading their C6 for the new Camaro ?

Chevy dealers will start taking orders, for the new, retro, 69, Camaro, starting monday the 13th. Are any of you guys planning to get in line for one ? - Looks like the SS package will have a LS3 with 420 H.P in the 6 speed manual version. -- Cyber Gray, and Monterey Red (Red Jewel Tintcoat) are also available. -- Interesting offering. -- Does anyone have pricing info ? -- :bigears --- OR --- C6 + Camaro ?

Same engine in a heavier car. No thanks.

I have had lots of people ask if my 07 coupe is a new Camaro. :willy:

Yeah. I'm going to trade in my new Z06 on a Camaro. :toetap:

The new Camaro isn't as good, as far as I'm concerned, as my Vorteched 1994 Z-28.

I have owned many gen one Camaros with my first in '68. I said IN '68 not a 68. It was a new 4 speed SS 396 coupe...got it in June '68.

Many others followed in the 80s including two pristine all original 69 Z28s.

Uh, the new Camaro is NOT retro to anything IMO. It is modeled after two things IMO, the Dodge Charger and a brick.

It is a good choice if a person wants a heavy car that's fast for it's size. I have to laugh. What a load calling this thing in any way similar to a '69. The '69 was sleek by comparison and , even lighter!!!!!! It weighed in the neighborhood of 3500-3800 lbs.

The new "brick" probably won't be under 4000 with the big V8.

Two tons? That's a sports car?

The Cad CTS-V at maybe 4200 lbs with 550 hp seems like a far better choice. It most certainly will run circles around any stock Camaro and perhaps even the base C6.

I WAS thinking about buying a new Camaro just for the nostalgic thing....but why? I can't think of a reason-not one.

That would be nice, but Id rather take Vette + Challenger 6.1L SRT.

-- :iagree: -- I haven't seen a Camaro, but the Challenger sure is a load. -- The weights for the SS Camaro are 3,913 lbs. for the auto, and 3,860 lbs. for the manual.

I've seen the concept Camaro at the '07 and '08 New York Auto Shows. I know Corvettes, the Camaro is no Corvette. I'll be keeping mine.

:rofl::lol::rofl:

Yep, two ton, high beltline, fat car. It is nothing like a first generation Camaro, or the svelte 3rd generation Camaro. The new Challenger may not be lighter or faster, but it sure is better looking. It actually captures some of the sleekness of the original Challenger. The porky looking new Camaro doesn't.

The only car GM currently makes that looks good is the C6. Even though it is heavier than a 1960s Corvette, it doesn't look heavier. The new Camaro does.

GotVett? 10-10-2008 11:23 PM

Nope.
