seat bladders

i have a 98 vert with the sport seats...

can i take out the passenger bladder and put it into my driver's side since my driver's side lower back support is leaking...? i dont really care if i have a leaking bladder in the passenger side since people rarely care to adjust the seat on that side anyway

Take the bladder out, get a rubber raft repair kit, and patch the bladder. Simple fix.:cheers:

i was thinking of doing that too after doing some research, but i wanted to see other options...

sometimes it's just the hose connecting to the bladder that leaking. They tend to dry up.

do i have to remove the entire seat to have access to this or can the leather covers unzip and come off?

The seats are not that hard to take out. And will make the job easier.

The bladders are not difficult to fix. There's a plastic tube that routes from the motors that takes the air to the plastic bladder. It routes around the seat but it has plastic elbow connectors to get around some tight corners. Most guys seem to find that it's not the bladder thats punctured but the connector thats broken. A replacement is a few $$.

You can check out the problem with the seat in place by just unzipping the seat back. Mind you, it's a five minute job to get the seat out and it'd make it much easier to work on the problem, once you find it.

This is the best link and it has some pics to let you see the components:

Changing the seats out would mean moving the control panel to the other side and refitting the trim pieces. never tried it but I doubt it would be simple. I'd try a repair first.

To answer your other question, here's a link for a fix for the rocking seats:

I fill up my bladder on my drivers side then a few seconds later it deflates. you guys think this a problem with the pump or is it the tubes? And like this original question, is it possible to just take the passenger side setup that works good and put it in the drivers side?

Since it fills up, the pump is working fine. You have a leak. Follow this post to see how it's fixed.

So is it possible to just but the airbladder section? I bought an extra set of seats and they are shot on both sides.
